At Proctorio, individual test-taker privacy and data security are our highest priorities. Because of this commitment, we continually seek out the safest and most secure solutions. As the next step to providing the most secure online learning experience possible, we’re excited to announce that our platform is now available as a Microsoft Edge browser extension.
As long-time users of Microsoft Azure, we are excited to expand our partnership with Microsoft and our support of international users, including those based in China. Microsoft’s mission aligns perfectly with Proctorio’s – to empower instructors and test takers to achieve more, while ensuring user privacy and security.
Microsoft Edge’s tracking prevention features include transparency and control over trackers from websites that collect and store browsing behavior data. The privacy settings can be adjusted based on preference and include Basic, Balanced, and Strict modes. Microsoft Edge’s default setting is Balanced mode, which blocks trackers from sites that the user has no relationship with, balancing privacy and site compatibility. The browser also provides options to adjust this setting to block fewer trackers in Basic mode or more trackers in Strict mode, depending on test takers’ personal preferences.
We’re proud that more than 1,200 institutions choose Proctorio to facilitate their exams and provide a high-integrity learning experience. With this trust comes the responsibility to work with companies who deeply value user privacy and provide the most secure, reliable, and individualized user experiences possible.
